Here’s the third in our series of lighthearted videos that highlight advantages of the Visian ICL implantable lens over other vision correction technologies — in this case LASIK and eyeglasses (we bring them both to tears). The Visian ICL character is played by actress and Playboy model/radio host Andrea Lowell, who had the ICL implanted in both of her eyes. Enjoy, and please share these videos with anyone you know who may be considering vision correction surgery. For more info, please visit www.VisianInfo.com
The first half of my good Lasik surgery experience at Hoopes Vision–creating the flaps in each cornea. Originally this was done with a metal blade, nowadays they do this with a laser. They did the right eye first, and then the left eye. Getting the suction cup on my right eye was PAINFUL (they tried twice). The sudden bllidness after they turn on the vacuum was startling too. During the video you can’t actually see the laser, but you can see the film of tiny bubbles created as the laser passes. After this step, they had me sit in a really nice massage chair, eyes closed, for ~15 minutes letting those bubbles pop, thus separating part of my cornea. My vision was foggier than normal after this step.
LIke many of Dr. Winthrop’s LASIK patients, Tim now has better than 20/20 vision. Tim is sensitive about anything touching his eyes, but the procedure is so quick with the Allegretto Eye-Q that it was no problem for him. Tim’s a firefighter who can’t wear contacts, so great natural vision is critical to him.
