Shows a new way of using a femtosecond laser for refractive surgery. This is all-femtosecond lasik procedure, called FLEx or Femtosecond Lenticule Extraction. Unlike traditional femtosecond lasik, as with an intralase, where a femtosecond laser is used to make a flap, and the lenticule is ablated with an excimer laser, this procedure involves creating a lenticule and flap with the femtosecond laser, and then physically extracting the lenticule. It promises a safer, more accurate and cheaper laser vision correction procedure. This video has been provided by Dr. Rupal Shah, Vadodara, India.
Video shows Dr. Rupal Shah, New Vision Laser Centers ( www.newvisionindia.com ), Vadodara, India making a LASIK flap with the Carl Zeiss Meditec VisuMax Femtosecond Laser. The VisuMax uses much less energy, and higher pulse frequency, along with a patient friendly curved corneal interface, to make more precise, smoother flaps than the Intralase or iFS lasers.
Dr. Rupal Shah, New Vision Laser Centers, India (drrupalshahlasik.com) presents one of the first videos with the new 500 KHz VisuMax Laser for creating the LASIK flap. This is then followed by corneal reshaping with the Carl Zeiss Meditec MEL 80 excimer laser. The combination of these two advanced machines for LASIK provides an unchallenged superior platform to perform LASIK to give the best results to your patients. Especially note the high speed, low OBL and ease of centration of the VisuMax femtosecond laser. Also note the complete absence of sub conjuctival hemorrages. Also, note the effectiveness of the tracker and speed of the MEL 80 excimer laser.
Have you wondered how safe LASIK eye surgery is? The safety of this procedure is determined by the skill of the surgeon, the accuracy and rigor of preoperative screening, and the technology used in the procedure.
