That's why a history of a stable Rx is so important in deciding whether someone is a good candidate. There's also the possibility that the cornea itself may change over time directly as a *result* of the laser surgery. This does seem to apply to a very small minority of people, and thinner-than-average corneas may be a factor. Went from not reading the E on the wall (-6.00) to seeing 20/20 now. It is suppose to be long term but like the other person said you can't fight old age. I am only 28 so I hopefully have some time. Depending on how old you are now does have some bearing on your situation, but other factors could be in play also. If you are say approaching 40- your near accomodation could be the problem, meaning you need reading glasses. Her vision i still 20/20 and has never uttered one complainat but i'm sure if she felt her vision was decreaseing she would go right back to the clinic. My Daughter inlaw is allso an RN and keeps up to date regaurding any long term effects of Lasik surgery. I would recomend you getting checked out at the clinic and keep your vision up to the 20/20 level.
