this information are very useful 2 me , by the way, i have an appointment with my optician in hour time ,for new eye test, i was thinking for this solution and your V/clip encourage me. thanx
I had this done on Friday. I now have 20/15 vision, and I had absolutely NO pain or discomfort at ALL. I slept from 4-9:30 p.m. after the procedure, thanks to a Demerol. I am completely happy with it!
There is a local anaesthetic in the form of eye-drops which numb the actual eye and inhibit the blink reflex.
However, these drops do not numb the eyeids or the surrounding area and you can still see pretty well. The operation is not pleasant, but is very short, painless and definitly worth it.
I just had lasik done a week ago. It was the best thing i ever did…had it at 4pm and the next morning 9am, i was driving to a conference! They give you eye drops that allow you not to feel it, though you can feel pressure and coldness. It was a little scary in the procedure, but totally worth it!!!!
There is always someone, normally an american who thinks they no better than the rest of the world. What about the millions of success stories then? Just becasue you had a bad experience I dont understand why you should try to put everyone one else off.
LASIK centers, their staff and doctors, aren’t reporting all of you that are hurt into the mandatory “Adverse Event” reporting system called Medwatch. They aren’t reporting you because they don’t want you to sue them and they don’t want the LASIK GRAVY TRAIN of money to end and be shut down. They know it’s not safe, but the money is too good to pass up. Websites warning you below to hear the truth are:
to do LASIK, the surgeon must expose the stroma (middle layer) of the cornea. they can do it with a microkeratome (small blade) or an Intralase laser. the laser creates small bubbles that separate the tissue, instead of cutting it with a blade. both accomplish the same thing. each method is commonly done.
for those who asked, the flap they create never completely heals. the edges will seal off, but it can be broken loose. it takes a more force than you might think.
Braves catcher, Brian McCann, placed on disabled list with deteriorating vision after LASIK. Pro golfer, Retief Goosen, withdraws from tournament due to vision problems after laser eye surgery. Tiger Woods’ surgeon ordered to pay $850,000 for LASIK malpractice. You need to study up all you can before thinking about getting lasik. Read more at safelasikguide (.) com
Hi, I had this done yesterday and can say i was very scared but didn’t need to be as it was over in 15 minutes and was painless, so if you want rid of your glasses and contact lenses go for it.
had it done last week, totally painless. Although there is some discomfort during the intralase part since they flatten your corneal lense in order to cut it. But like I said, its totally painles and i could see 20/20 without any haziness or anything the day after surgery. Definitely worth it!
Intralase takes 20 seconds for both eyes and doesn’t hurt. Also, it permits a more rapid healing.
After surgery, it takes around one week to be able to do everything you want to, as the eye will take some time to readjust a bit, especially to daylight, although you’ll be able to see clearly after a good night’s rest following the surgery.
Full recovery takes around 2 months, that’s when the flap fully heals.
Don’t be scared, just take a vallium one hour before the surgery to calm down

@lisamarierose Oh yea your right… i just found out… what was your eye vision for each eye before you had this done?
March 21st, 2010 at 7:08 pm
20/15 is better than 20/20. I can see at 20 feet what most people have to be closer — 15 feet — to see.

@lisamarierose 20/15?? isnt it supposed to be 20/20?

No pain. Some pressure during the procedure, but nothing bad!

You didn’t feel nothing, nothing, really nothing at all?

What do you see just after the surgery ????? Nothing ???
March 22nd, 2010 at 3:03 am
Believe me, with those eqiupments, it is impossible for you to move your eyes. In the second session you can move, but no harm for your eyes.

I had this operation yesterday. The first 4-5 hours were very difficult. But now everyting is perfect. No pain now.
