Blade Free LASIK with the Carl Zeiss Meditec VisuMax Femtosecond Laser and MEL 80 Excimer Laser
Dr. Rupal Shah, New Vision Laser Centers, India (drrupalshahlasik.com) presents one of the first videos with the new 500 KHz VisuMax Laser for creating the LASIK flap. This is then followed by corneal reshaping with the Carl Zeiss Meditec MEL 80 excimer laser. The combination of these two advanced machines for LASIK provides an unchallenged superior platform to perform LASIK to give the best results to your patients. Especially note the high speed, low OBL and ease of centration of the VisuMax femtosecond laser. Also note the complete absence of sub conjuctival hemorrages. Also, note the effectiveness of the tracker and speed of the MEL 80 excimer laser.

Why do they need to create the flap in the first place, do you know?

@andreipetunin There was no blade used, at 0:40 they made a flap for the laser to be placed on the eye without using a blade.1:07 was them pulling the flap back (not cutting it) Look at some videos that has a metal plate that is placed on the cornea

How can it be blade-free if I can see the blade? What am I missing? Is that the most advance, wavefront-guided, femtosecond laser treatment available to us to date?
