Does LASIK or LASER eye surgery really make your eyes have better vision?

I’m not sure if it is Lasik or Laser, but anyway, does it really improve your eye vision? If not, what does it do?

um of course it improves your vision. if it didn’t people wouldn’t be spending a lot of money to have it done.
my sister used to need glasses/contacts. she had lasik 3 years ago now and her vision is 20/20 (perfect vision) and no need for glasses any more.

prescription is -4.75 is it really bad…do i need lasik surgey?

im 16 and my eye sight is -4.75.i wear contacts and i have astigmatism and miopia[this is when the eye sight keeps worsening]…
my doctor told me i might need to get the lasik surgery by the time im 19..its a really scary thought but is -4.75 really that bad? and who has ever had lasik surgery?? and what are the posibilities i could stay blind afterwards?

-4.75 isn’t that bad

I used to work in an opticians and we saw people with -13/14 prescriptions still wearing lenses and glasses.

Myopia just means you are short sighted (that you cant see stuff in the distance, but close up your vision is better) not that it will necessarily keep getting worse.

Most eye surgeons shouldn’t operate til your 21 because your eyes are still changing but if your prescription hasn’t changed in a couple of years they might do it from 18.

You don’t NEED to get LASIK surgery, its just if you want it. I currently have a -6.75 prescription, and wear both lenses and glasses and haven’t had LASIK Surgery. I’m 24.

If you don’t want to wear lenses or glasses any more, by all means look into surgeons in your area but make sure they are reputable, ask to see comments from past patients, but the best thing you can do is wait til your 21 and your prescription has been stable for a year or more

LASIK Sugery in Singapore?

I am thinking of going for Lasik surgery, but not sure where to go. There’s a few places that I know of. Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC), Lasik Surgery Clinic at Paragon, and Mt. Elizabeth Medical Centre.
Any recommandations on which one should I go to??

Dont know anything about the places in Singapore to have it done, however be sure to go for a few consultations and choose the surgeon with the best reputation and one you feel comfortable with. Also, be sure to get the Intralase ( all laser). Do not go for the blade (microkerotome) as many complications result from blade surgery.
